# Registration and API keys

## Register or sign in
Open [AoxToken registration](https://aoxtoken.com/register) and follow the account creation steps. Existing users can [sign in](https://aoxtoken.com/login).

## Create a key
1. Open [API key management](https://aoxtoken.com/keys) after signing in.
2. Create a key with a recognizable purpose, such as “My Codex”.
3. Choose a group if the page requires one. Groups affect available models and permissions; do not infer capabilities from their names alone.
4. Copy the key and store it securely for use in a client or application.

## Configure your client
The OpenAI-compatible API base URL is:

https://api.aoxtoken.com/v1
```
Paste the key into the client's API Key field without adding `Bearer `. For a raw HTTP request, see the authorization header in [Endpoints and authentication](/docs/en/endpoints/).

## Manage your keys
Use separate keys for different tools so they are easy to identify and revoke. Revoke a leaked key in the dashboard and replace it in your client. Do not commit configuration files containing keys to public repositories.
