# 5-minute quickstart

## Prepare your account and key
Open [registration](https://aoxtoken.com/register), or [sign in](https://aoxtoken.com/login) if you already have an account. Create a key on the [API key page](https://aoxtoken.com/keys). Check that its group and your account allowance are suitable for the model you want to call. See [Registration and API keys](/docs/en/account-and-key/).

## Choose how to connect
- Desktop or command-line tools: follow [Codex setup](/docs/en/codex/) for Windows or macOS.
- Your own application: follow [First API request](/docs/en/first-request/).
- Unsure which address to enter? Read [Endpoints and authentication](/docs/en/endpoints/).

## Confirm it worked
After receiving a model reply, check the matching request and usage record in the dashboard. A name in the model picker does not prove that a request reached AoxToken.

## Get help
Check the endpoint, key, model ID and group permissions before using [Troubleshooting](/docs/en/troubleshooting/). Do not include real API keys in screenshots or support requests.
